Beef Checkoff Program Committees

The Beef Checkoff program Committees review Checkoff work and make recommendations to the Beef Promotion Operating Committee.

Committees are aligned with the program areas and budget categories defined in the Beef Promotion and Research Act and Order. Twice each year, producer leaders meet within these committees to review programs and projects tied to their specific initiatives.

All program committees evaluate Checkoff-funded work related to their categories, ensuring alignment with the Beef Industry Long Range Plan (LRP) and the Consumer Beef Demand Drive research. Each committee then submits funding and program recommendations to the Beef Promotion Operating Committee (BPOC), which makes the final decisions.

Two advisory committees—Evaluation and the BPOC—provide guidance on the structure and operation of the National Beef Checkoff program. The Evaluation Committee reviews project results and assesses the effectiveness of Checkoff programs
