Amy has a background in both the seedstock and the auction market segments of the beef industry. She owns and manages Lyons Ranch and raises Angus cattle in the Kansas Flint Hills with her family. The Langvardts also have two livestock sale barns, JC Livestock Sales Inc. and Clay Center Livestock Sales, with Amy's husband and in-laws. She is a graduate of Kansas State University in agriculture communications and has been involved with Kansas Foundation for Ag in the Classroom, Frontier Farm Credit, Kansas Livestock Association, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, Kansas Angus Association and the American Angus Association.
