What is the Beef Checkoff doing to educate physicians about beef?

Fill 1 Created with Sketch. Back to Frequently Asked Questions

Physicians are increasingly expected to address healthy diets as part of their practice despite not having any formal training in nutrition. With this in mind, the Beef Checkoff has become more involved in educating physicians about the latest scientific research behind beef’s health benefits and role in healthy eating patterns. Checkoff programs provide physicians with continuing medical education (CME) opportunities at in-person conferences and through digital experiences including online modules and webinars. Recent CME opportunities funded by the Checkoff have reached nearly 4,000 physicians and physician assistants and have focused on cardiovascular health and recent research on weight management and the Mediterranean diet.
