Verna earned a B.S. in Animal Science, Production Management from Montana State University and worked as an MSU extension agent on the Blackfeet Reservation. She is a member of Montana Farm Bureau and Blackfeet Natural Resources Conservation District, and serves as secretary/treasurer of the Blackfeet Nation Stock Growers Association and previously served as secretary of the Rocky Mountain Region Intertribal Agriculture Council. Verna and her husband, Book, work on his family’s ranch and raise Simmental/Angus cattle, horses, and alfalfa hay.
