Hailing from Hays in central Kansas, Matt and his family own Grabbe Farms, a cow/calf and backgrounding operation. They also farm wheat, milo, corn, soybeans, alfalfa, and feed for the cattle. In 2023, the Grabbes were named Farm Family of the Year by the Kansas Farm Bureau Assoc. Matt is current president of the Ellis County Farm Bureau, held previous positions with Kansas Farm Bureau, and has worked as assistant fire chief for his local volunteer fire department.
