Courtney Kalous (pronounced "klouse", rhymes with house) joined the Beef Board staff in December 2008, after five years at the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, where she served as director of member services. At the Beef Board, Courtney served as director of collections compliance from 2008 until May 2012, when she moved into the position as director of planning and evaluation. In late 2016, Courtney narrowed her focus to program evaluation. In this role she manages plans and budgets related to checkoff program evaluation and key partner relationships. This involves writing and executing plans of work, including budgets, for the evaluation function of the Beef Board, in addition she serves as a resource for the Operating Committee, the Joint Evaluation Committee, the Investor Relations Working Group, and checkoff program managers. Courtney is an alumnus of Colorado State University, where she graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in agriculture business and a minor in economics. She lives in south central Kansas, with her husband, Tod, who is the assistant general manager for a cattle feeding company, and their two sons.
