Reminder:  BQA Award Applications Due!

Award applications for the 10th annual checkoff-funded National Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Award now are being accepted.  The 2016 National BQA Awards recognize five winners -- one each in the areas of beef, dairy, marketing and education. To submit an application, click here. Applications are due via the online submission form by June 20, 2015.


2015 Beef Industry Safety Summit Summary Now Available

With more than 220 attendees, the 2015 Beef Industry Safety Summit was again the meeting place for safety experts in the beef industry to hear the latest science and regulatory information surrounding the current challenging safety issues facing the industry. As in the past, participants took advantage of opportunities to exchange ideas and share individual experiences, thereby ensuring continued improvement in the beef industry through non-competitive collaboration. New Infographic on Top Selling Beef Cuts

A new checkoff-funded infographic illustrates which beef cuts are sold most during the summer grilling holidays to inform retailers on the cuts to stock and promote all season long. The consumer response: beef is what they desire for the grill.


Addressing Beef Safety Challenges

Access to beef safety technical experts, open discussion with colleagues and practical solutions to daily challenges were developed during the “Addressing Beef Safety Challenges - A Workshop for Beef Processors,” held May 21 in Lakewood, Colo. This checkoff-funded event was a dynamic, hands-on meeting that gave participants tools and knowledge to apply as they produce beef products in their establishments. Dr. Kerri Gehring, Texas A&M University, and Norm Robertson, North American Meat Institute, shared many resources and gave participants the opportunity to talk through common challenges that they face in their beef-processing plants.
