Rob von der Lieth was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture to begin his first term as a Cattlemen's Beef Board member in 2015. He runs a winter stocker operation in Oakdale, California and a summer stocker operation in Big Piney, Wyoming. He also has served as vice president of Tri-State Livestock Credit Corporation since 1984. Rob earned his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and was a member of the 1974 Pac-8 Championship football team there. Prior to working for Tri-State, Rob worked as a graduate assistant coach at the University of California-Berkeley for two years; and as an appraiser and loan analyst at the Federal Land Bank of Alturas, California. In addition to the Beef Board, Rob has been involved in a variety of beef-industry and community organizations, including the California Cattlemen's Association; Wyoming Stock Growers Association; National Cattlemen's Beef Association; American Quarter Horse Association; Rancheros Visitadores; Sonoma County Trailblazers; Bohemian Club San Francisco; San Benito County Saddle Horse Association; and the Sons of California Football Alumni.
