Paul Moss has been in the dairy business his entire life, and represents the second generation of his family to raise registered Jersey cattle. Paul milks 150 head of cattle -- with another 160 head of young stock on their operation -- in partnership with his wife, Sarah, and son, Will. Paul and Sarah also have two daughters: Laura, who is an agriculture-education teacher, and Elizabeth, who is a type appraiser for the American Jersey Cattle Association. On their 489-acre farm, the Mosses also raise corn, wheat, oats and sorghum sudan grass for forages for the cows. Paul is the president of the Tennessee Dairy Herd Improvement Association and also serves on the following boards: Tennessee Dairy Promotion; Tennessee American Dairy Association; Tennessee Southeast United Dairy Industry Association, and the Tennessee Dairy Producers. He was nominated to the Beef Board by Dairy Farmers of America, for which he is a southeast councilman. Paul and his family also are active in their community, supporting the local FFA chapter and 4-H club dairy activities by hosting judging events and leasing calves for FFA members to show.
