Lynn Keetch is a cow-calf producer and dairy farmer in Montpelier, Idaho. He has been in the dairy and ranching business since he was a teen, and he ranched with his father until his passing in 2005. Lynn and his wife, Rowleen, have five children and 12 grandchildren. Their son, Layne, works with Lynn on their 1,000-acre operation, where they run 160 mother cows and have a small dairy of 40 cows. At an elevation of 5,900 feet, Montpelier has a short growing season, and their cattle graze on both private and public land. Off of his ranch, Lynn has participated in a number of volunteer efforts, including service as president and first and second vice president for the Idaho Water Users Association; and as a board member for the Idaho Beef Council, United Dairy of Idaho, Dairy Farmers of America, the Independent Dairy Environmental Action League, and the Farm Service Agency.
