Larry Cunningham has been part of the beef industry his entire life. He was raised on a diversified farming operating, including beef, hogs and row crops, that his parents began in Spring City, Tenn., in 1947. His current operatoin includes 150 acres he owns, plus 100 leased acres, where he and his wife run a breeding program and have 40 registered cows. He has a daughter who was active in Junior shows until graduating from the University of Tennesee, where Larry also earned his bachelor's degree in animal science. Larry and his wife are currently helping their young twin boys kick off their cattle-showing experiences. Separate from the cattle operation, Larry serves as vice president of First Bank of Tennessee and is a board member for the Tennessee Beef Cattle Improvement Program; past president of the Tennessee Beef Industry Council, the Rhea County Cattlemen's Association, the Datyon Jaycees and the Tennessee 4-H Foundation Board; and past board member for the Tennessee Polled Hereford Association, to name a few. He holds many honors for livestock judging and academic excellence, and previously served more than 35 years as chief lending officer for Ag Credit.
