Kristy Lage is a first-generation rancher and farmer, as co-owner and operator of a cow-calf, swine, and goat operation that also grows irrigated corn and hay. She was most recently nominated to the Cattlemen's Beef Board by the Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska and Nebraska Farmers Union and appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture to begin service on the Board in 2016. She has served many years as a Nebraska County Fair judge, a swimming instructor, and a private violin teacher. Kristy is also very active in the beef industry, serving two previous terms on the Cattlemen's Beef Board, for which she served on the Retail, Operating and Executive committees, as well as service as president of the American National Cattlewomen and of that organization's Foundation; the 2005 Nebraska CattleWomen State Promotion chairman; a former member of the ANCW National Beef Cook-Off team, and a multi-year winner of the Nebraska CattleWomen membership contest. Kristy also is a past president of Nebraska CattleWomen and is both Beef Quality Assurance certified and a graduate of the checkoff's Masters of Beef Advocacy program. She has promoted beef in 16 states, and her current passion includes running marathons for Team BEEF.
