Beef as a First Food

The beef checkoff partnered with a Midwest retailer to educate shoppers during August on beef’s benefits for infants and toddlers. Dietitians in 244 stores and 8 states were provided with nutrition research, family-friendly recipes, and checkoff-logo baby utensils, as well as suggestions for media and social outreach to share nutritional benefits of feeding beef to young children. Beef specials and “dietitian’s pick” signage features are in the meat case; in addition, a full-page advertorial placed in the retailer's magazine reached an estimated 2 million consumers. Dietitian media placements are being identified and sales results will be compiled.
