Raised on a diversified farming operation in Nebraska, Jessica graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in agronomy and agricultural business. She worked as an agronomist, agriculture education teacher, and FFA advisor before joining her husband, Philip, in the operation of Weltmer Land and Cattle in Smith Center, Kansas. Jessica’s industry involvement includes the Kansas Livestock Assoc., Farm Bureau, NCBA, Kansas Cattlemen’s Assoc., her local agriculture education advisory board and FFA alumni board, and the Smith County USDA Farm Service Agency Committee.
