With his two sons and nephew, Irv owns and operates the Y6 Ranch in Southeast Wyoming. The ranch includes extensive grassland, irrigated farmland, irrigated meadows and a feedlot that produces 8,000 to 10,000 head of cattle per year. A third-generation rancher, Irv has been active in leadership positions for local and state farming and ranching organizations for more than 25 years. His service has included the Wyoming Board of Agriculture; the Wyoming State Fair Advisory Council; Wyoming Stock Growers Association; Wyoming Beef Council; the U.S. Meat Export Federation Board; Federation of State Beef Councils Executive Committee; NCBA Executive Committee; and the Beef Promotion Operating Committee. Irv was nominated to the Cattlemen's Beef Board by the Wyoming Stock Growers Association and appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture to begin service in 2016.
