Richard Nielson, Utah

Central Utah is home to Richard V. Nielson, a partner in the historic Nielson Farm Inc., a cow-calf and backgrounding operation founded in the 1860s. Richard’s grandchildren are the seventh generation on the farm, and he and his family understand the importance of the beef checkoff in promoting beef to today’s consumer, both in the U.S and around the globe.

“The No. 1 thing I wish all beef and dairy producers knew about the beef checkoff is the real value of our one-dollar investment,” says Richard. “Just a dollar helps build consumer confidence that our beef is a safe, nutritious and wholesome product that fits any lifestyle.”

“Our beef checkoff promotes U.S. beef in foreign markets and helps sell more beef all over the world. Our $1 checkoff is the greatest value on the planet today,” Richard says. “Imagine ¯ my $1 investment helps build consumer confidence and demand. I consider it a bargain!”
