Lucy Rechel, Nevada

Western Nevada is home to Snyder Livestock Company, a bull and heifer development yard which also backgrounds feeder calves. The family-owned operation also grows garlic, onions and alfalfa hay. Lucy Rechel and her family understand the importance of the beef checkoff and how it helps get the word out about the nutritional value of beef.

“Our checkoff-funded beef nutrition program addresses what is really on the minds of Americans ¯ where their food comes from; whether it’s good for them; whether it’s safe; and how it’s produced,” says Lucy. Nutrition education programs provide answers to these important questions for influential dieticians, health professionals and media. We’re providing them access to the latest research findings and accurate information about the nutritional aspects of beef.

“These professionals have a huge impact on the eating decisions people make,” Lucy continues. “And, checkoff dollars are limited, so reaching these influential audiences is an important aspect of what our investment does.”
