Jim Warren, 101 Livestock Market owner, operator and rancher, understands the value of the beef checkoff in securing the future of the beef industry. Jim received the 2010 Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) national award recognizing his leadership in animal care, handling and health for his livestock market operation, his involvement in the California Cattlemen’s Association and his family’s ranching operation.

“On our ranch and at 101 Livestock, we continuously strive for excellence ¯ using the BQA techniques for proper animal care and handling,” says Jim. “We ask ourselves, ‘have I done everything in my power to supply consumers with safe, high-quality beef?’

“As cattlemen, we have a responsibility to deliver the best possible beef from the ranch right on up the chain to the consumer,” he continues. “The beef checkoff provides our industry a tremendous service through all of its programs — from promotions and advertising to beef quality assurance — working together to increase beef demand.”
