California dairy producer Brad Scott, knows firsthand how the beef checkoff has provided value to his family’s 1,000-head dairy farm and packaging facility.
“As a volunteer leader of the California Beef Council, I have seen what it’s done with our beef checkoff investment. Our producer dollars expand our checkoff research, education and promotion programs through all channels of the beef industry,” says Brad.
“As dairy producers, our No. 1 goal is to produce wholesome dairy products. But equally important is the fact that we are beef producers as well. The beef checkoff helps educate all producers – including dairy producers – that we are responsible for making sure the animals that leave our farms provide beef products that are healthy and safe for consumers.
“The checkoff provides a big bang in return for the dollars we invest. We would be lost without the important areas that the beef checkoff supports. Dairy producers receive extra value for our animals, thanks to the checkoff program,” says Brad.
