Beef Board Reapportionment

The Beef Board reapportionment plan -- based on analysis of average cattle inventories in each state and unit during the last three years -- was recently approved by a majority of the Board. Under the plan, the Beef Board will lose a total of four seats: two in Texas, one in New Mexico and one from importer representation. The plan will apply to the nomination process in 2014 and affect the number of Board members appointed or reappointed by the Secretary to serve on the Board beginning in 2015. The map for the reapportionment plan is available HERE.
