Know Farming, Know Beef!
The beef checkoff is hosting the 2011 Beef Boot Camp May 10-11 in Hadley and Hatfield, Mass. The camp, part of the checkoff’s Northeast Beef Promotion Initiative, kicks off with an ‘early bird’ dinner for participants on May 10, followed by the all-day conference May 11. The agenda includes a panel of speakers and presenters from the beef industry, followed by a half day farm tour at the dairy farm of former Beef Board Chairman Lucinda Williams and her family in Hatfield. This is an excellent opportunity for retail meat managers and department supervisors to gain a firsthand understanding of modern-day farming in their region.
