Meatless Meals?

Media increasingly are suggesting that consumers have a “meatless meal” once each week for nutrition and/or environmental health reasons. With a slew of such Meatless Meals/Meatless Mondays recommendations out there, the checkoff is developing response materials. These “Good for you, good for the planet” messages reinforce beef’s role in a healthy diet; in addition, information about the environmental sustainability commitment of cattle farmers and ranchers will be prominent throughout the materials. These materials including the “Don’t Miss Out On the Benefits of Naturally Nutrient-Rich Lean Beef” fact sheet, available on BeefNutrition.org, can help combat myths about meatless meals.
