Grassroots Response

In an effort to maintain a positive reputation of cattlemen, the checkoff continues to activate grassroots support and response to misinformation about the industry. Recently, Shalene McNeill, executive director of human nutrition research for the checkoff, authored a letter to the editor of the Washington Post regarding “All Dead Cows are not Created Equal.” “Today’s farmers and ranchers use fewer natural resources to provide a growing population with an affordable supply of great tasting and, most important, nutritious beef,” McNeill noted in her response to the article. In addition, Masters of Beef Advocacy (MBA) alumni have been activated in response to articles that encouraged readers to adopt a New Year resolution to eat less red meat. To sign up for the MBA program, click here.
