Top 10 Industry Leaders
CBB Member Spencer Ellis, a cow-calf and feedlot producer in Lovell, Wyo., is named among Cattle Business Weekly's "Top 10 Industry Leaders" for 2010. Ellis is a native of Wyoming and a fourth-generation rancher and owner of Flying E Ranch. In addition to serving on the Cattlemen's Beef Board, Ellis is chairman of the Wyoming Beef Council, a member of the Big Horn County Resource Advisory Council, and a 19-year member of the Shoshone Stock Grower's Association.
Ellis is a big believer in volunteerism as a way to keep the world going, agriculture included, and he would like to see more people active in their industries. "Everyone is so busy with different activities or work that it can be difficult to volunteer," he said. "But I think that if you aren't there to help with the things you believe in, you will lose them."
