Mobilizing Beef Advocates

The beef checkoff has been working to activate grassroots support and craft responses to misinformation about the beef industry. Recently, Masters of Beef Advocacy (MBA) graduates Kyla Clawson (Kansas State University) and Brad Copenhaver (Virginia Tech University) were published in the college newspapers setting the record straight about the impact of beef production on the environment, the role of beef in a healthy diet and the definition of sustainable agriculture. In addition, MBA alumni have been called in to action to respond to articles from the Chicago Tribune’s The Cost Of Cheap Meat,” The St. Louis Tribune’s Eggs, Antibiotics and the Limits of Industrial Agriculture” and News and Observer piece titled “Bug Control.”
