Educating the Influencers

In partnership with the Illinois Department of Public Health, the beef checkoff helped educate nearly 200 public health and environmental health influencers at the 11th Annual Illinois Food Safety Symposium about beef safety and the beef production process. The symposium provided a forum for discussion of food safety issues and was designed for professionals in public health, agriculture, dairy, academia, foodservice and others interested in promoting food safety and reducing incidence of foodborne illnesses. Participants received beef-production information through a presentation by Michelle Rossman, who heads up beef safety research for the checkoff.
