Korean Camping Enthusiasts
Three of the hottest activities in South Korea - blogging, camping and cooking - came together recently in a two-hour session conducted by the beef checkoff visiting chef Jay McCarthy for an online club composed of more than 35,000 Korean camping and barbecuing enthusiasts.
Camping & BBQ, one of Korea's largest online camping clubs, hosted the beef checkoff and McCarthy for a special demonstration that drew an enthusiastic crowd anxious to learn outdoor cooking tips and more about U.S. beef.
Camping & BBQ held an overnight campout in Gonjiam near Seoul and McCarthy spent the afternoon introducing participants to a number of U.S. beef products, including beef chuck eye roll and beef skirt meat, as well as special preparations including his Texas cowboy rub, rosemary red Serrano rub and a jerk rub.
