
Sharing The Beef Story
The checkoff helped get foodservice and culinary personnel from the populous Northeast to a beef industry tour hosted by the Nebraska Beef Council June 14-17. Northeast participants included Mark Molinaro, director of career services for the New England Culinary Institute; Daniel Garland, salesman for AM Briggs in Washington, D.C., and Dave Kehm, meat merchandiser for Redner’s Warehouse in Pennsylvania. Participants toured a beef processing facility, two feedlots, a cow/calf ranch, a veterinary clinic, and a corn production facility, in an effort to better understand the daily production practices used to raise cattle and produce beef.
