Dairy BQA Manual

Dairy market cows play a significant role in the nation’s beef supply, making the checkoff’s Dairy Beef Quality Assurance critical for providing consumers with the best quality beef possible. Toward this end, the checkoff-funded Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program, the National Dairy Herd Information Association (NDHIA), and multiple other dairy organizations have collaborated to create a National Dairy Animal Care and Quality Assurance manual. Available soon, this comprehensive manual will contain best management practices covering a broad range of topics – from proper cattle handling to judicious antibiotic use. It can be used as part of an education and training program to help identify and manage areas in dairy operations where defects in quality can occur. For more information, visit DBQA and BQA.
