Simplifying Beef Nutrients
As part of the Beef Checkoff Nutrient Database Improvement Initiative, USDA has developed the USDA Nutrient Data Set for Retail Beef Cuts, Release 1.0, a reference presenting retailers with accurate beef-nutrient data in an easy-to-use table format. This data set serves retailers in providing on-pack nutrition labeling and in making nutrition claims – especially for beef cuts regarded as mandatory by the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). This data set will be updated as new data is generated from the checkoff’s ongoing improvement initiative.
