Sherry was nominated to the Beef Board by the Nebraska Farm Bureau, Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska, Nebraska Cattlemen and Cattlewomen and the Nebraska Farmers Union, and appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture to begin her first term in 2012. Sherry and her husband, Chris, run a cow-calf operation and raise replacement heifers. She has been active in agricultural organizations, serving on boards including the Nebraska Farm Bureau, Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition, the governor-appointed Nebraska Environmental Trust, and the Grant County Planning Commission.
