Patrick Becker is a third-generation rancher and native of Selfridge, North Dakota, which is in the south-central part of the state. He was nominated for the Beef Board by the Independent Beef Association of North Dakota and appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture in December 2011 to a three-year term on the Board, beginning in February 2012. Becker, who runs his cow-calf operation with his two sons, is a past director of the U.S. Cattlemen's Association.
