Pete runs a cow-calf/stocker operation in Kettle Falls, Washington, and was nominated to the Beef Board by the Washington Cattlemen's Association, for which he is a past president. After college graduation, Pete returned to his family's farm and started running feeder/stocker cattle with his father's cow-calf herd. In 1988, he bought his father's herd and has been running cows and stockers since. In addition to the Washington Cattlemen's Association, Pete has been active with his county cattlemen's association and conservation district. He was involved in international trade missions with the state, for which he traveled to South Korea, Taiwan and Mexico City, and also coordinated the Washington Cattlemen's Association's participation in the International Food Show in Taipei in June 2007.
