Brenda Black is a cow-calf operator from Deepwater, Missouri. She is active with the Missouri CattleWomen, including service as an officer for the group, and with the Missouri Farm Bureau. In addition to ranching, Brenda is an author, freelance writer, inspirational speaker, and the owner of a writing and public-relations agency, "The Word's Out." She holds a degree in agriculture journalism from the University of Missouri, and has more than 1,500 published works. Her news and feature articles regularly appear in "The Midwest Cattleman," "Missouri Beef Cattleman," and "The Missouri Ruralist" magazines, in addition to community papers throughout the state, the ag industry, and Christian publications nationwide. She and her husband, Alan, who is a pastor, have two sons, Austin and Cooper.
