Spencer Ellis is a third-generation beef rancher in Wyoming, and his son plans to represent the fourth generation working it. Spencer was born and raised on the Flying E Ranch, which he now has served as operator for nearly 20 years. The Flying E includes a cow-calf operation, as well as a warm-up feedlot with about 500 head. Ellis has served two years on the Wyoming Beef Council, including his current service as chairman, and is a newly appointed member of the Big Horn County Resource Advisory Council. In addition, he is a 19-year member of the Shoshone Stock Growers Association; served four years on the Wyoming Board of Agriculture, including service as president in 2006; three years on the Irrigation Board; and two years on the Conservation Board of Directors.
