Andy is a commercial cow-calf producer, and he and his wife, Lynn, have a family operation in partnership with their son and Andy’s parents and brother. Andy has been an industry leader on both national and state levels. He was Michigan’s representative on the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) Board of Directors when he served as president of the Michigan Cattlemen’s Association and was a participant in the NCBA Young Cattlemen’s Conference. For about 30 years, he has been a volunteer fireman in his community and has served as a 4-H leader. The Salinas Farm was one of the earlier adopters of the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) and has earned Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certification.
