Ernest "E.B." is a third-generation cow-calf beef producer on a family farm established in 1916. He is also president and owner of E. B. Harris, Inc./Auctioneers, which launched in 1977. He is responsible for the farm sales of equipment, cattle, logging equipment and real estate. He has served as president of the North Carolina Cattlemen’s Association, president of the Warren County Cattlemen’s Association, on the North Carolina Cattlemen’s Foundation Board, Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) Advisory Board, Granville County Cattlemen’s Association and the National Cattlemen’s Young Cattlemen’s Conference.
