Bruce was born and raised in the dairy business. He owned a dairy/row crop/cow-calf enterprise until 1979 and sold the dairy in the fall of 1979. He also owned a purebred Simmental Simbrah operation from 1979 to 1998 when he turned it into a commercial cow/calf operation which is still going strong. Bruce is married to Noreen and they have two children, Ann and her husband Troy, and son Jacob. He has held leadership positions with the Independent Cattlemen’s Association of Texas, Texas Beef Council and United States Cattlemen’s Association.
