The Research and Knowledge Management Group includes the following advisory committees and subcommittee, with the primary responsibility of identifying and recommending to the Beef Promotion Operating Committee checkoff programs that serve as channels for positive change through development, dissemination and implementation of science based information and programs. Programs in this arena include quality assurance, beef safety and product enhancement.
2008 Joint Product Enhancement Committee
This committee of the Product Science and Technology Committee works to establish research and funding recommendations that are aimed at improving beef and beef products.

2008 Joint Beef Safety Committee
This committee develops recommendations that focus on beef safety, quality assurance initiatives, and domestic and international meat-inspection procedures and processes. In addition, the Joint Beef Safety Committee’s recommendations also have impact on development and implementation of HACCP methods and research aimed at further controlling contamination in or on beef and beef products, to ensure that consumers receive safe and wholesome beef products.
