The Joint Public Opinion & Issues Management Group focuses on development and recommendation of a broad range of information and public-relations programs, ranging from working with health professionals to letting producers know how their checkoff dollars are being spent.
This group includes two committees and four subcommittees that work in advisory capacities toward two basic ends: to guide education, public relations, industry communications and issues management efforts, and to set industry nutrition and health priorities. The first purpose is accomplished by the Joint Information Committee, through its two joint subcommittees -- Public Relations and Issues Management. The second purpose is the responsibility of the Joint Nutrition and Health Committee and its two subcommittees -- Food Nutrition Influencers and Youth Education and Information.
