Checkoff Contracting

Definition

Qualified checkoff contracting organizations are national nonprofit beef industry-governed organizations.

Role

The role of these organizations is to contract with the Beef Promotion Operating Committee to conduct promotion, research, consumer and industry information, foreign marketing, and producer communications programs funded with beef checkoff dollars and under Agricultural Marketing Service Guidelines. Eligible Organizations

Dozens of organizations qualify to contract with the Operating Committee. American Farm Bureau, American Meat Institute, American National CattleWomen (ANCW), American Veal Association (AVA), Livestock Marketing Association, Meat Importers Council of America (MICA), national breed associations, National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) Federation Division, National Livestock Producers Association (NLPA), National Farmers Union, North American Meat Association, and the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) are but a small sample of those eligible.
