27th National Beef Cook-Off® Comes to Chicago for a $50,000 Prize Showdown
DENVER (July 18, 2007) – The nation’s premiere amateur beef-cooking contest is announcing
its 25 national finalists for the 2007 event. Chicago will host the 2007 Cook-Off Sept.11-13,
with talented competitors squaring off for their stake in more than $100,000 in cash prizes. One
finalist will be named the $50,000 “Best of Beef” grand prize winner.
In addition to the $50,000 “Best of Beef” Grand Prize, eight cash prizes totaling $60,000 will be
awarded in four categories including:
New Dynamic Beef, which includes recipes that provide an enjoyable eating experience while
giving consumers fuel for the body.
Nuevo Latino Beef, which includes an exciting spin on traditional Hispanic recipes while
meeting today’s active lifestyles.
Kids in the Kitchen, which includes recipes prepared by parent/child teams that promote
nutritional balance.
Small Plates, Big Taste, which includes grilled beef recipes that can be served as appetizers
or as part of a varied shared meal for everyday entertaining.
